Just picked up a portdat with TC from ebay and I now need the manuals.
Any body have extra's that they don't need or can some one post scans?
Also does anyone know how to access the error counter or if there is some magical head hours counter in the portadat - All I can find is that an error counter exists and there is no head hours counter because the hhb is so good you never have to replace the heads (don't know if I believe the later statement).

The manuals are all on the HHB website.
Portadrive Quick-start Guide v1.3 (http://www.hhb.co.uk/hhb/global/brochures/PORTADRIVE_QUICK%20START%20GUIDE%20V1-3.pdf)
Portadrive Manual v1 (http://www.hhb.co.uk/hhb/global/brochures/Portadrive%20Manual%201-01%20final.pdf)
Portadrive Manual v1.3 (http://www.hhb.co.uk/hhb/global/brochures/Portadrive_Manual1.31.pdf)
Be patient - these link to pdfs.
The page for all HHB manuals is HERE (http://www.hhb.co.uk/hhb/uk/support/index.asp) - click "User Guides" on the right..
I hope this helps.

EDIT
Oops - just noticed you said PortaDAT and *not* PortaDRIVE - sorry. ::)
Best is to go to the link above and then give HHB a ring direct. They are a helpful lot there.

Yeah, I don't suppose the PortaDrive comes up on eBay too often!
My PortaDat came from the first batch of 50 sold. I've always been an early adopter! It did sterling service but I can't help reflecting how much more bang for buck is now obtainable from the likes of the R-44. I chiefly keep mine because it seems more likely to play DATs from any other machine than the rest in my collection, all of which now seem rather fussy.
I hope HHB remain as helpful as they were to me back in 1984 when I used their facilities to edit my first commercial CD for Philips!

As far as I know, they are - they are a professional and helpful company in my experience - and, unusually it seems, have an excellent bunch of knowledgeable staff.
