Title: Bad Batch of Sony DATs?

Wasn't there a bad batch of sony dats a while back?  What were the symptoms?  Seems like I have at least 1 dropout a show.  Loaned Ryan a couple of them and he is having the same problem.

i havn't had any from the last sony's i've been using. the last 3 from this box went fine after i cleaned my deck...  i havn't heard anything about it.  hope not good luck man.

check out the oade archive...there were some postings on there with lot#'s that were suspect.

Anybody have them by any chance?  I didn't have much luck on oade.

Try searching the old Oade Bros Tech forum (http://www.oade.com/cgi-bin/miva?Forum/technology/search.mv) for "bad batch" (without quotes).

hey kevin, i believe that the bad tapes were in late january.  I believe jan 31st.  This was in 2002.
