im recording with CA cards > CA-9000 Pre > JB3. i cannot for the life of me figure out which of the mics is left and which is right because if i turn the JB3 off after everything is set up the channels switch. i dont know if it is the recorder or the mics/pre. im sure there is an explanation for this but i have no idea. anyone have any experience with a similar setup and know what the issue might be? thanks in advance.

The JB3 switches channels every time you pause/stop a recording. I used to just tag the right channel by speaking into the mic when I dropped my stand.

This is a known bug with the JB3. :( It's in the FAQ, IIRC...
Nothing you can do about it, other than reversing the channels in post if it bothers you.
