So I had the input jacks on my r-09 go boom a few weeks ago....I was wondering:
a. if there was a dedicated thread for this problem?
b. in the absence of said thread, will edirol fix this problem for free? read through the FAQ and it was not very helpful

Ugh. Sorry to hear about your input jack. When did you buy your R-09? Curious b/c supposedly most of the input jack problems came from a run of R-09s from sometime in fall of 06. Definitely still concerning. But Edirol supposedly is being pretty generous of fixing the jacks even past warranty. Hope they'll fix yours!

I work at a place called Professional Sound Services in NYC. We sell, rent, and service all audio equipment for the film industry. We work with all kinds of mixers, wireless, and recorders. When we sell the R-09, we always recommend to the customer a 6" cable that is stereo mini(m) to stereo mini(f). Ideally, you would leave the stereo mini(m) in the input jack at all times so it doesn't become intermintent. I recently bought a R-09HR and I will be getting this cable as well.
Thanks,
JUSTIN

It was bought in November 07 from Ebay, it shipped with firmware version 1.20 though, which I understand is older.

ok...this is really weird..all fine now...was dead when tested with mics > box > r-09 and the line out from a tape deck. Problem solved though, I guess.

Glad to hear it. Guess it wasn't the input jack after all, good thing.
