No contest in the field for "taping" - MC930
The Josephsons excel in close miking situations, IMO. Good for miking instruments, etc. Not so good from distance.

another vote for the beyers. My favorite mic to date. I currently do not own a pair, but will again (for the 3rd time).

I have owned both, and prefer the Beyers for concert recording. When I had both, I did some tests:

As mentioned before, don't discount the value of the C42's in the studio. They are awesome mics, and have a lot of uses.
