Hi there,
I've been looking but haven't found any related threads so...
Anyone know what I can use to record a live webcast. Specifically, http://attblueroom.com/music/Mile-High-Music-Festival/more-information.php > I'd like to record Winwood on Saturday and just about all of Sunday. I know there is software out there but has anyone had any success with a program that I can just set to record and let it do it's thing? I'll be at the festival so I'll be just setting it and go. Can it be set to record and stop like a VCR?
Thanks for any help, or if someone is planning on recording the live webcast, perhaps I can shoot you some DVD's for a copy? I'm running Windows Vista and XP on separate machines. Cable internet...

To someone like me who switches off if software isn't intuitive, it's great. A high quality product. I have version 11.

A good way I recently discovered after trying many software capture tools with slightly disappointing results (probably due to my low spec PC) was to use my wife's laptop with a TV out via a s-video (it was a Dell Inspiron 1525, a lot of Dell laptops seem to have this facility). I routed this to a DVD recorder and the sound via the headphone out and recorded a webcast this way with really good results. I then authored a DVD with menu etc using the recording from the DVD recorder
Clearly its better if you can capture the stream direct, but in some cases (such as the one I was after from www.channelbee.com) this wasn't an option due to the proprietary player and DRM issues.

Thanks for the response.....+T. Now here's another question for you....The live webcast will probably not start until shortly before 4:00PM, I will already be at the festival by this time. Is there a way to obtain the URL needed to record from before hand? I understand that WM Rec will automatically find the URL needed, BUT do you have to manually find the URL and input it into the program if I want to schedule to record a webcast? OR can I set it to start recording and it will automatically pick up the URL on it's own?
Thanks again for any info. It is truly appreciated!
No laptop or DVD recorder so option 2 will probably not work for me. I appreciate the suggestion though! +T

Anyone want to record these from the webcast for me? I'll compensate and send out media (in B&P format). No need to mess with the files just raw files will work and then I'll mess with them.
Saturday:
Steve Winwood
O.A.R.
Sunday:
Rodrigo Y Gabriella
John Mayer
Black Crowes
DMB
The wife and I would really appreciate it. I just don't have the $50 to pay for a program I have no time to familiarize myself with. Thanks in advance.
Packing up to go... ;D
