As the price drops, its gets more and more tempting... 3x weeks ago it was at $300. I'm curious about tube amps but don't want to shell out a bunch of money.
Would you buy it??? Why or why not???
Thanks,
Terry Watts

A friend of mine has the same gear. Should you buy? I don' know. I do know it sounds unbelievable >:D
depending on the condition, you may or may not need to spend some money on having all the electrolytic caps replaced. so factor that into the equation.
if it plays, buy it. ;Ded

I wouldn't buy any old tube gear, when newer great sounding stuff
can be had at around the same prices.

That's a very good point. I looked for nearly a year at Dynaco ST-70's in various stages of restoration. I just love they way they looked and I just wanted to finally get a tube amp for my vintage Klipschs. But I finally settled for reliability and got a new integrated Jolida 102B for about the same money as a decently restored Dynaco, around $550. I must say the tubes really mellowed out the horns on those Heresys. I couldn't be happier.
If you don't mind the occasional maintanence, get one of these: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/w4m/768795944.html
