I have a tape that I ran this weekend and I have T01.WAV, T02.WAV, then T02A.WAV. T01 is 1.85 gig like I expected, T02 is only 800 meg, then T02A goes to the end of the show, about 1 gig more. There's a break between T02 and T02A of at least a few seconds. I'm not sure how long because I'm not familiar enough to know if a whole verse was cut.
I had the 722 in a bag, hidden-like, so I'm not sure exactly what happened.
What does the designation of -A mean? I'm guessing that it the 722 crashed, rebooted, and started recording again, but I don't have a way to confirm that.

I got an "A" take on my 702 once, but I did not have any time gap between files. I also never saw what happend but I always assumed that there was some kind of error with my CF card so the 702 started a new file. Since I stopped using that particular CF card I have never seen an "A" take again.

an error occurred while recording/writing the file. I believe there are options in the menu how the 722 will react to an error, with the "A", it continues writing, but to a new file. I had this happen once, there was a very small gap between T## and T##A. It happened while recording 24/96 on a drive that was nearly full and hadn't been reformatted for some time.

That would be the case with mine. I seem to be very bad at formatting my drive because I'm slow as crap to dump it off, but this may be part of the issue - well fragmented drive. I should get better at this I guess... :P

Has happened a few times to me but on the external HDD. Stems from the bad power connection to the HDD. Kept pulling out. But it would do that when I noticed power out to the drive and wiggled the cable. Never had it on my internal drive though. I don't use flash cards.
