OK so as promised I'm posting two soundfiles recorded with my Aevox mics
location: playground @ Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
rig: Aevox MkII > Sound Professionals-SPSB-5 > Archos402 camcorder (used as a digital audio recorder)
recorded at 44.1kHz/16bit
(Archos doesn't do 96kHz/24 bit)
mic config: A-B @ 40cm...
ambience recorded: mics facing forward + flat on a stone bench
kids on slide recorded: mics on ground facing forward
preamp gain: +22dB
converted using Audacity>LAME > 192kbps

Nice. Were you sitting between the mics?
You should upload them to www.freesound.org :)

no, I was standing ~2 meters behind the mics and recorder
but keeping a watchful eye on my rig ;)

the primary aevox models look a lot like the little naiant mics. are they supposed to be better than naiants (ie, less noisy)?
-
the manufacturer publishes no spec for the Aevox mics
but he has capsules made to his specification
I have no idea how they stack up against the Naiant mic's
-
Could you pls post a recording from a concert with that mics?
Thx

I don't record live music at all
not my thing
but maybe there is someone else on TS with Aevox mics that could do this?

Seems like nobody got Aevox there :)
How does it cope with high SPL ?
-
since Aevox doesn't publish 'specs' there is no info on their web site about what the max SPL they can handle
but as I record mostly sound effects and ambiances I have yet to encounter anything approaching the levels of electric live music (i.e. not acoustic)
the mics are sensitive to low freqs so care must to taken to use a hpf during some recordings so the mics don't distort
