Title: New desktop computer buying help needed
Post by: Chuck on August 08, 2008, 08:43:20 PM
My desktop computer just crapped out... I built it around 2000. (The year 2000)

What's a good, reliabale, relatively cheap computer I can go out and buy?

I have a monitor, I just need a box I can put a couple IDE hard drives and an IDE DVD burner into.

Luckily I have a good IDE hard drive with WIN2000 on it and all the programs I use.

Is it possible to walk into somewhere like Best Buy/ Circuit City, etc... and get a box with no Windows Vista etc... on it?

I'm hoping to go out and find one tomorrow, as I'm lost without my desktop machine.

Chuck: See my post in Crue thread.

Do you know what died? Symptoms? It's possible that you just need to replace one part. Fixing a desktop is pretty easy.
