does one kick the others ass??? Been thinking about pickin g up the 660. Seems super lightweight.
any thoughts? Stay w/ the UA? Make the switch? ???

Do it. The busman 660 sounds fantastic. I had both of the pieces of gear that you referece and I liked the 660 more. Super sound, super transparent. Nice lights. Yes, it's VERY lightweight. The only thing special that you want to know is that you do need to run it 100% of the time with the -20db pad engaged. I assume you're considering the low priced one in the YS. If I had an extra $350 laying around, there's no doubt that I'd have already picked that up because of the size and sound.

thats the thing, i dot really have the extra $ lying around. I would want to sell my UA-5/JB3 pairing. Im stuck.

can a cable be made to power this unit from a walmart.

the UA-5 uses rat shack type B and Type M ends and a cord reverse the tip on one end

I have both UA-5 bm2p+ and PMD671 busman modded, and, believe me, I think that I'm staying with the PMD671, the transparency that the mod gives really reminds me of the UA-5 bm2p+ sound.

Of course you would want the 660... all that sound in one little package... and that one just sold for 360? that nuts good.
OK all that said...The BM2p+/JB3 is not an awful rig. I had one and ran a microtracker behind it and I pulled great shows.. I also owned a Bussman Mod 660 and although it was fine sounding.. It didn't "Blow away" the BM2p+ . Also.. it is limited to 16bits.. (as you are with the JB3) and it was limited by (in my opinion) by not being able to mix a live matrix. Don't feel bad.
