Title: Stupid Audacity question
Post by: cybergaloot on August 15, 2008, 01:57:32 PM
In Audacity and some other sound editors the wave form will be two different colors. In Audacity it is dark blue with a lighter blue "core". I'm guessing the darker color is peak and the lighter color is RMS or something. Is this correct? Their literature leaves a bit to be desired but then you get what you pay for.

Yes, you're correct.  The inner wave (lighter blue) is RMS and the outer wave (darker blue) is the peak.
