I snagged a new mic stand from a TS user. He sent me a golden adapter to place in the top. It does not fit my akg stereo bar. Anyone know what I need to make this work? Pics are attached.
Thanks for the help - always appreciated!

the first one, fourth and fifth ones should work for the 3/8" end and then your bar should screw onto it.

I'm going to vote for both as I've had occasions where having both in my gear bag saved my rear. Unless you are really tight for cash, I recomend aquiring both in a single shipment.

The "golden adapter" has 1/4" (camera tripod) and 3/8" (european microphone) studs on it. Your AKG bar is 5/8" (the same as "any" US microphone stand). So find a 3/8" to 5/8" adapter and go to town. Maybe you already have one (if you have any decent microphone clips, they should come with the 3/8" adapter). Check your bag-o-parts. You know; that gallon-sized Ziploc bag (or coffee can) full of random "leftovers" that you save in case you someday actually need them... Anyway; that adapter shouldn't cost more than a couple dollars (an outrageous price which is tolerable only because it's audio gear). Best of luck!

Also I would recommend the rapid adapter with the above thread adapter.

well said Todd. also, make sure you buy a couple or more adapters in case you lose one of them.
If you want to save some money, here are some generic brands that are cheaper.

The rapid adapters are inexpensive, and I definitely recommend. Most theater shows I strap my stand to the seat with a generous number of bungee cords so I don't have to extend the tripod and block the aisle. My stand has air cushioned risers that can not be rotated.
With the quick adaptors I can lash my stand down, then tweak the final positioning of my T-Bar by rotating the quick adaptor. Pretty handy to be able to toss things up without having to worry about final position of your T-Bar based on a fixed thread post.
