Title: Request: Quick n' easy free-jazz mastering job. Can anyone help?
Post by: Unitmonster on August 21, 2008, 03:40:23 PM
Hey all,

My computer is in the shop getting repaired and I've got a show I just taped that I wanted to master/track before leaving the country.  Show is:   Frode Gjerstad / Paal Nilssen-Love Duo  08/20/2008 Montreal, QC Canada. Onstage AT853rx (sub-card) > Fostex FR-2LE (Busman t-mod) @ 24/44.1.  2 Sets of about 45mins each, each with about 3 tracks.

The recording came out really nice, so I imagine all that's needed is normalizing, maybe some Waves L3 or similar compression, tracking and FLACing.  The 2 musicians, sound man, and venue archivist all asked me for a copy of the show and I leave the country long-term in about 2 weeks so it would really help me out!

I can probably upload the 2 sets to a file-share site for someone to download if they're willing to give it a go. Thanks in advance!

Can I have a crack at this too? i probably won't add much compression, just a tiny bit of subtractive EQ if needed, and boosting overall levels if necessary.
I learn a lot from doing this, so it wouldn't bother me at all if you didn't keep my results.
