Title: AKG 170 - any good for a low budget mic?

tried the search function, but it didn't spit out anything.

does anyone have experiencing using this one? does it deliver in terms of bass frequencies?

Spend just a lil' bit more and nab a set of the 393 bluelines.  Check the yard sale.  Was a set for sale for at or under 500.  Definately worth the extra cash spent.

I needed a quick and dirty solution last friday so I grabbed the AKG170. works fine, totally satisfactory results in problematic and loud sound environments,,,

That's great.  Welcome to the AKG family!  I personally love the AKG sound.  It'll be interesting to hear some recordings with the 170 series.
