Title: kORG mr-1000: Some silly questions i need to ask
Post by: muj on August 31, 2008, 06:53:02 PM

here we go:

1.after transferring dsd files to my harddrive,  Can i playback dsd files via my hard disk?

2. It's either dff or wsd format for me, which one do you use ( except those who run sony vaios :))

3.dsd output filter:  on or off?

1. Yes, as long as you have Audiogate or another appropriate dsd playback/editing software...With Audiogate(if I'm not mistaken) it's not true dsd playback, it will convert on the fly to whatever the settings are set to, 24bit/192khz is the best it gets, it sounds really good to my ears.

2. I started out using WSD but the file size was a bit ridiculous for what I'm recording(small local bands) and have since been using DFF.

3. I have never used the output filter myself, but others may have a varying opinion on that.

taped George Clinton tonight.

nevaton mc400 ( spread 4 feet) > FM acoustics classamp m1>mr-1000 DFF  5.87 ghz

sound is very upfront, clear and smooth. Reminds me of Analog.

my only bitch about the unit is the input sensitivity  is way too high even  going balanced line-in, i only had 6 db gain on my mic-pre. Just means the signal-noise ratio isn't optimal.

the nevs are so hi-fi and big it's just plain silly.
