I did a search on this topic and couldnt find anything
Theres a drop sensor in the sony hd cams that seems to get activated by the vibrations of a loud rock concert ...............it turns off the deck to save the harddrive
Has anyone else had this problem?
thx- Mike
Yes. I think Doug (from CA) has this problem too with his Sony HD camera. He may have done something to fix it.
so does anyone know how to fix this problem? It happened to me last weekend.
I'd check at this forum - lots of smart people when it comes to video and video equipment. Kind of like TTS - but for video.

My sony is the same way. It's fine for everything but rock shows or loud concerts in general. I use a Panasonic pv-gs500 thats uses tape for concerts and loud music.I don't think there's a fix. The internal hard drive can't take the vibrations at a loud shows.
ebay it and buy the miniDV version >:D
I haven't had the problem so far, I just got my Sony HDR-SR12 recently and it has an option to turn off the hard disc protection. Don't know about the other models.
