I have a pair of ADK A-51S type V condenser mics and was wondering if these would work in an on stage set up for doing a matrix. My other option is a pair of Oktava MK 012 condenser mics. It is a small stage, probably 12 feet wide, in a small club.I was thinking of doing an X Y configuration but I am new to onstage mic placement and doing a matrix. Any idea's, pointers or other places I could get info on this?
Thanks!

hey
not familiar with the ADK's
but you could run your SD Oktava's onstage in an ORTF configuration
I am a big fan of ORTF on stage
(not everyone is)
some might say DIN-A
look UP ^^^^^^^^^^ if your not sure

or spaced omnis on stage always sounds awesome!
what are you going into
a mixer (& mixing on the fly to 2-track) or a 4-track recorder?
if its a very small club and or stage
you might have better luck running close audience mics
omnis
or ORTF
back a short distance from the stage
you get on stage sound + house PA
it depends on the venue
and the band
heavy Vox?
or mostly instrumental?

I have made many a KICK ASS recording using the A51's mics on stage for a matrix. I love my LD mics and can't imagine using anything else, I evem prefer them over a set od AKG 480's on stage. I'd run the ADK's ortf. Kirk
