I found this on ebay and ordered one for myself.  Just be aware that it is a refurb.  I couldn't find a lower price than this.

The lowest I could find it new was $329 on Amazon.com.  That's where I bought mine from.  However, it does seem that Amazon's price varies from week-to-week (or even day-to-day), so you may want to watch the price for a few days or so.

this is primarily the reason i would like to buy from an authorized dealer, and not just someone on ebay or amazon.

wish i could find out guitar center's cost/bottom line...
thanks for the replies  +Ts all around.

Unique Squared has it for $315 plus S&H.  I bought mine from them.  (I paid more a month ago or so.)  I wish I had more to buy because I want to do business with them again soon.  They communicated alot with me throughout the entire ordering and shipping process.  Total pro store and transaction.

My R-09HR cost me $337.45 without shipping.  I had it shipped 2-day UPS.  That cost me $29.16.  I am guessing regular shipping would be about $10.

I was at Guitar Center tonight.  They have the HR in stock now.  $400 plus tax is their asking price.  Stick with Unique Squared through Amazon.  Total pros.

$310 plus $6.19 for shipping.  This is the lowest I've seen, but I can't vouch for the company.  I've never dealt with them.  However, they are on Amazon and Amazon is trustworthy.

BIN $299, free shipping! Maybe the Microsoft cashback rebate still applies, which would make it even cheaper (see separate thread about this...)

100% positive feedback, but again - I've never dealt with them either.

I would still feel much better buying from an officially authorized dealer...which is why I did...a bit more cost wise, but the piece of mind is definitely worth it.

Damn....that's a helluva deal.

Like the OP, I don't mind paying extra to get it from a reputable seller that I know I can trust.  So I got it from B&H Photo in NYC for $399.  I also live overseas, so I'm limited somewhat because a lot of places won't ship to me.

This is probably a silly question, but in the item description, this listing says:

Records to SD or SDHC memory card (Up to 8 GB)

I know that SDHC's can go to higher capacities though-- does the R-09HR handle only up to 8GB cards, or is this just a description which is now showing it's age, when in fact the device can handle the higher capacity cards?  Also, does the R-09HR split tracks at 2GB, as I've heard of some devices doing?  If so, is the split seamless and stitch-able in post?  Thanks!

Almost everything you'll ever want to know about the R-09 HR is in this thread (now up to pt. 3):
