i tried patching fro mmy buddys deck the other nigth but i didnt get any music. i went out of his spdif line out and into my spdif line using the digi cord. i set my input on the mt to spdif but still nothing. just wondering if my buddy had to set anything in order for me to get whats coming out of his deck

The Microtrack does not have SPDIF out.  Only SPDIF in.

You cannot link two together digitally.  You could however try using a coax splitter and splitting the signal before both decks.

i have not tried it but you could try going from the rca of one into the 1/8 or 1/4 of the other

sound levels are so low coming out of the r.c.a.'s that your recording will prob. contain lots of pre-amp noise as you have to push the gains so far to get a decent level. sorry
