Title: 722 gain question
Post by: Kevin Straker on October 15, 2008, 11:14:54 AM
I taped a band called Need To Breathe last weekend. I was FOB center. I had the gain nobs all the way down and the music was hitting one light from the last red. Gain setting is on "normal". Will the normal setting work for most FOB situations or do most of you turn it down to "low"?

There is no "rule" on gain settings.  Use what works.  The manual, if you do not have one, is available as a free download from the SD site.  Also, you may want to upgrade to the latest firmware release, 2.54.

Keep on tapin'.

I only run low gain for taping amplified shows.

I did go ahead and upgrade the firmware, but didn't print the manual that goes with that particular version.

Low gain for sure. In Low gain it starts at + 10  and in normal gain it starts out at +25.
