I see the H-120 is popular, so is anyone using any of the new machines from iRiver for stealth and field recording?
-
No, the h1xx and h3xx are the only real useful offerings from iRiver:
a) rockbox as firmware is most important.
b) true line in on h3xx and analog and digital line in on h1xx.

iriver has a new player, the E100, which also features a line-in. No idea on the quality and no rockbox on it. (One dev has one, no plans for a port for now)

8gig with native FLAC support, sounds interesting if only for playback.

Last time I checked, neither of them did 16/44 WAV. After the 1xx/3xx series, none of the offerings from Iriver ever matched them in features or versatility (rockbox!).

Interesting. The specs are vague, does it encode directly to FLAC or only WMA??? Maybe it's worth asking the iriver support?
