Title: AKG mic /body connection issues
Post by: jkbyram on November 15, 2008, 03:49:32 PM
i have been having some static in one mic that is audible during silence between songs.  after playing with the mics at home i have determined that one of my ck1 caps makes the static only when attached to one certain body(c451eb). i can switch caps to the other body and it does not occur. also when the cap is attached to the body which produces the static, i can touch the cap and the static increases. is this a possible bad connection and a grounding issue? the same caps when used on my 460 bodies do not do this. thanks for any help!! suggestions of possible fixes? cleaning the contacts maybe?

I would send them to Richard Land for a check up.

Sounds like a loose wire.  I had the same issue with a a61 knuckle.
