Title: Strange Audacity problem exporting WAV files to 44.1 -NEVERMIND! Fixed!
Post by: morst on November 26, 2008, 12:31:55 PM
EDIT- NEVERMIND! I GOT IT WORKING!

Hey folks,

I'm attempting to get a friend's PC with XP working with Audacity so he can learn to track out sources he has recorded. Most of the master recordings are at 48KHz and 24 or 16 bit.

I normally use Audacity on my mac, but have had success using it on various other machines including my mom's PC running XP.

The problem I am currently facing is that when I export his audio file as 44.1KHz 16-bit WAV, then import it again, the resultant file has levels which peak constantly, and sounds like white noise.

Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone have some insight as to what may be causing it?

Any help is much appreciated!

EDIT!

HAHAH!! I Fixed it, whatever it was. I think the temp directory was on a hard drive which was too full. It seems to be working fine now.

THanks and feel free to ignore this!
