Title: JB3 not shown as connected to PC? - solved, thx!
Post by: sunjan on November 29, 2008, 08:51:00 PM
hey all,

Here's a real dumb question...
I did the big mistake of messing around with my PC.

Until now, my JB3 has been working fine with XP. Whenever I connect with firewire I used to get the "connected" logo on the blue screen. I was running the latest drivers.

But after I installed Sveta (dbPowerAmp plugin), the installer overwrote my drivers and now the computer doesn't recognize the device.
I don't get the "connected" logo anymore, when I boot up the JB3, it just goes to the main menu, as if it wasn't connected.

I've got Nomad Explorer and Notmad installed. Both of them used to see the device, but now it's not connected.
It's not visible in the task bar in Windows either (nothing listed under Safely Remove Hardware), no matter if I connect thru firewire or USB. And the cables have been working fine until now, so I don't think it's hardware related.

Shutting on/off the JB3 and rebooting the PC doesn't help either.

I've been searching the forum here, but since "JB3" is only three chars, the forum software will ignore the string :-P

Is there any easy way out that I didn't think of???

Perfect! Did that, plus shifted to another firewire port on the computer to get rid of bad karma solved my problems. Thanks all!
