thanks for the advice.  hopefully that works out.  ive always considered feurio the be all end all for traders and ive been using it since 03.  is imgburn considered up to par with feurio?  are there any other surprises i should expect with vista?  ill second your advice on installing xp, but i feel i have to give it a try.

i use nero 7 w/ the flac plugin for burning. as far as other issues i don't have many. i was shown a wavelab 5 workaround that seems to work flawlessly. vegas and soundforge both work fine also. the only thing i have not been able to get to work for me is the foobar "live show tagger". i don't think vista is really that bad and have been running it for over a year now.

When I got Vista two years ago I switched from wavlab to Vegas and Sound Forge  and at the time could not use Flac so I switched over to traders little helper. I see you can work around the hang up w/ flac now but I have grown to like tlh so I think I will continue to use it.
