Hi all,
Any tips on setting up DIN config with AKG bar, AT shock mounts, and AKG 391's? I tried making the AKG bar with a 90 deg angle, but this resulted in 30 cm of spacing between the mics. Can't push the mics back to narrow the space due to the shock mounts. I'm thinking of maybe trying to make 60 degs separation on the AKG bar, and 15 degs rotation with the mounts. Just wondering if anyone else has done this to save some time and trouble figuring it out.

isnt DIN/NOS 30cm spacing?

Check out DPA Microphone University's Stereo Techniques page (http://www.dpamicrophones.com).
DIN = 20cm/90º
(Some prefer 17cm/90º for hypers though I haven't seen this documented in any "official" resources - FWIW I use 20cm for hypers and the results turn out great IMO)
NOS = 30cm/90º

don't worry about getting the angle right on the bar. Set the mics up and adjust the mics, mounts and bar to achieve 90*. Rotate the mounts AND use the bar.

are your mics and shockmounts, or at least one of them risen, so you can cross them without a problem? if not your gonna have to make a lot of space between them, but mine i can cross without touching. good luck..

buy an atlas lo-b riser (I think that's the part number). rise one, make a 'V' with the akg t-bar (I like the point of my V to face the stage), and rotate the shockmnts to get 90deg. then just slide the mics forward or back to get the right spacing.

I don't think those Rapido quick releases are tall enough. You need something more like 2x that tall to get the shockmnts high enough.

They are tall enough to do the job. But not with windscreens.
