When you go to save a file in CEP there's a little box you can check whether or not you want to save extra non-audio information. I unchecked it, can anyone shed some light on the subject? thanks

There's plenty of light in the CEP Help file. :P

yeah I know, I always have to use those! :)
so I guess I should change my question to this:
what is author/header information or whatever? is it exactly what it says it is? do y'all check it?'
thanks Brian, I owe you a few +t's but I need more posts.

I leave the "Save Extra Non-Audio Info" checkbox UNticked.
The non-audio info is just what it sounds like: copyright info, band name, etc. On the main menu, go to View | Wave Properties, Text tab and you'll see a slew of non-audio data that you could save if you really wanted to.

it also saves cue points, which can be helpful if you've marked certain areas or it's a work in progress. FWIW, I've noticed that mkwAct will preserve the data if you compress to shn, whereas flac throws it out.

thanks guys, imaginary +t's
