Doug just sent me what he considers and updated/graded version of the classic m248 preamp.
It looks the same as any ol' 248 (I also have a stock one myself), but has different OP AMPs. He claims it to be a substantial impact on soundstage dimension w/a little added warmth.
Sounds good to me. I'll be running it all throughout dead tour this spring.
What do you have for mics these days?
Love to hear how this thing sounds. Planning on any comps Nick with the original 248?

Mics, I've still got my MK4/8 setup, a pair of SP C4's, and i'm horny for some AKG 414s....which might find their way into my closet by spring.

wish he could fix my m248.... getting ready to send it in for a 3rd time in just a year.
drop out on left channel, and he says he cant replicate. fingers crossed.
