Has anyone used this combination? I recently pick up a pair of nice cm300's. What is the best way to run these. Through the mic pre's with phantom turned off or through the pre's switched to line input and adjust gain that way?
an inquiring mind wants to know?
Peace ;D OOK
Mic-in with +48 turned OFF. Use your round 9v batteries for the Nak's and you are off and running..
I support this plan. Just don't fry them with phantom. On the LMA there is this 300 Gun ~> V3 ~> 7XX source that is smokin.
next question? -10db pad on or off?
;D
Peace OOK
Definitely no pad required. Naks are a relatively low output mic, so you need gain.

I feel as if I've seen a similar setup for Gongzilla/WWP there :P ;D
I've never needed the -10 db pad, but it always seems (to me) that the omnis run a bit hotter than the cards. I have nothing scientific to back this up, just a couple of experiences where I said, "holy shit these levels are way higher than usual!" ;D

Absolutely. You need to keep me posted about Jazz Cafe shows. Everything but Moon Boot flies under my radar. And there's always a place to crash in the burgh for you.
I thought I did. Recovered nicely though ;D
