Post by: leehookem on January 21, 2009, 12:51:00 PM
just wondering if upgrading the breakout cable for Audiophile 2496 is worth it.  if so, what options are recommended?

why would you upgrade the cable? what purpose would it serve?
every connection on that cable is digital, not analog.

 ???

correct.  but how come there are a billion different digital cables available?  didn't know if anyone had any experience with an upgrade.

1 - for very long runs it makes a difference
2 - audiophiles are suckers, believing that expensive things makes everything better. And there are companies taking advantage of that.

For the rest of us, don“t change it if it works. Digital is exactly that, 0 or 1, either works or not. Of course quality does count on connectors (not breaking), cables (staying flexible in cold weather, resistance to repeated bending and so on).
