Wondering if anyone has suggestions for my rig. Heres the options I have

AKG 391's > Mixpad 4 > Microtrack 2
AKG 391's > AKG B18's > Microtrack 2
0r AKG 391's > Microtrack 2

Havnt used the Microtrack 2 in the field but in the tests I have done (and read about here) the preamp sounds noisy.

if you coudl somehow swing a used UA5 in there you'd be golden. Then you could run digital into the MT.

I'd go with the mixpad to avoid the mic pre in the MTII
