Title: Field powering a MacBook...

I used to have a Vaio and ran N-Charge.....I never worried a bit about draining the battery on the comp. What battery has been getting good results for powering a Mac? I should be running a USBPre into, so a decent backup battery is a must......thanks for any info!

Just fully charge it and turn the screen off (F1 ?).  You should get 4 hours out of it.

I used to get that with my Powerbook when I was using it with a Metric Halo ULN-2

Different models have different power jacks. You should specify exactly which one you have.
Since Apple's introduction of the magsafe connector 2006, options have dwindled, because Apple refuses to license the design to third party vendors. :P
