I am thinking about getting one of the stereo LD mics.
I want to keep it pretty cheap, but I want the best value for my dollar.
Any advice on which ones to look at?
I'm probably going to look for a used one in the YS.

To me, the question is between the LSD2 and the BSCS-L. Didn't the LSD1 have some issue with it? (I'm working off of memory in the morning, might be wrong) I think the internals are better on the BSCS-L cause Busman does LSD2 internal wiring upgrades. That said, the LSD2 can be had for about $100 less. I've never run mine next to an LSD2, so I can't accurately comment on their sound.
One noticable difference is the shockmounts; the LSD2 mount sucks, while the BSCS-L mount is large in a neumann-LD-style, but is much better at it's function then the LSD2's. I think heikki was looking at replacing his LSD2 shockmount with the busman one, don't know if he did or not. So regardless of what you get, consider the busman shockmount. Messing with the buckle-style system is better then the bad shock resistance and screw system on the LSD2 mounts.

I think they are two distinctly different mics made by two different companies. Similar specs, but AFAIK they are as different as Chevy and Ford.
On a separate note, not to be confused, you can send an LSD2 to Busman and he will do a mod to it.
The Busman BSCS-L is currently selling for $500 new. A new LSD2 is more than that, the last few used LSD2s in the yard sale were less than that.
