Does one exist? Am thinking of grabbing a Mytek. Wish they made a 4 channel version.

Somehow I don't imagine that as being better than the SD a>d. But thanks for the link.

You can pick up a firewire or USB soundcard that will feed your laptop a four channel signal.
Some of them can be hacked to run standalone and powered by external battery. Like the Echo Audiofire 4:

But maybe that's not what you're looking for?!
What interface do you need the digital signal to be? Coax?

Edit: to not sound like a dick
AJA is thought of in broadcast TV as Sound Devices is to ENG....
I wouldn't hesitate for a second to think that the ADC in the Aja is as good or better than the SD....
-
No you don't sound like a dick but I see no 4 XLR in's on that thing at all.
-
yeah that web page isn't showing the side of the device that xlr's. The spec says it has xlr's, but doesn't specifically say that they do have one for each channel. I interpret it that way though.....
Anyway, there is an intern for a local tv station sitting on my couch rambling about how much Aja equpment rocks.....
-
Upon looking closer it says supplied xlr breakout cable. hmm. Seems cheap though by a>d standards.

Analog Audio I/O
Balanced, XLR, one channel per XLR connector

that does seem really cheap for a 4 channel bi-directional ad/da with wordclock sync.... Almost sounds too good to be true.....
Thinking about this more, I bet the SD is supierior. Aja's specialty isn't audio....

I couldn't find snr or chip specs. Maybe worth calling to get specs. I really like the simplicity, 5-18v supply, lol.

I was also looking for something similar. I found this:
http://www.core-sound.com/4Mic/1.php
Anyone here used this before? I was thinking of getting it but don't want to waste money if it is not as equally good as my SD442>SD722 setup. Was thinking of down sizing to 4Mic>D50 in the field.
-
I would check with Core Sound on the availability of this. As far as I know these are not shipping yet.
-
check this out. now discontinued so prices are low. i own one and love it.
