An interesting feature is the ability to use two sets of batteries, with one functioning as an on-board backup power supply...Probably doesn't do wonders for the weight, but sort of nice.  And necessary, too, given the dire warnings scattered throughout the manual about what happens with power disruptions (pages 12, 20, and 45):  "In this case, all recordings, settings and other data will be lost."
