somebody help me out here...
recently bought a macbook... out on tour now.
Got a jb3 filling up fast full of wavs I need to get off to make room for more shows...
beofre I left, I downloaded XNJB program, tried it out, worked great...
usb_bulk_read (ReadPipeTO):error reading from bulk endpoint82:pipe is stalled,njb3_get_file_block:I/O failure on USB data pipe
tried the XNJB forums, program dude tried to help me out, but best he can say is 'hardware error' and try another usb cable...
funny thing is, I go the prgram to work on 1 mp3 (test) and 1 wav at a venue during a set break, got back to the hotel and right back to error messages
2 questions:
is there another program I can use to get wavs off the jb3> mac?
does anybody have any experience with this program and can shed some light? Hell, if the guy that wrote the software cant figure it out....
HELP!
thx
~Jack

I/O error probably means a bad sector on the JB3 hard drive. try reading the files directly into something like Audacity off the JB3 and saving them that way.
-
i don't think audacity or any other program will read it
iTunes 4 (i think it was 4) did if you can find a copy of that
once you do get everything off i highly recommend doing the disc clean up stuff shown here

oh and are you trying to import more then 1 file at a time?
i wonder if its working on your tests because you are doing 1 file, and now trying to get a bunch of stuff at once
-
nah, tried 1 file at a time too...
drive doesnt mount as a typical hard drive, so cant really import anything (like into audacity)...
I have done disc cleanup in rescue mode on the jb3... cant format it (lose everything) or re-load the OS (lose everything)
guess I'll have to wait to get home and connect to my pc...friggin macs ::)
So wondering if I can put my jb3 transfer software (windows) on the mac using parallels or bootcamp...

You could maybe - have a small Linux partition and use Gnomad2?
...still usb speeds there, though.

you could also try mounting the drive in an external case and doing it that way. I believe cases for 2.5 drives go for $20-$30 on newegg

I dont think that works...I think some folks with broken JB3s have tried...
plus...it would sort of suck having to do that every time you wanted to transfer a show...

appreciate the ideas, guys... keep em coming, or somebody write some damn code for mac!

i think that might actually be the real issue
the jb3 and the program where in the ppc era, i am not sure it works in intel the way its suppose to

Have you tried using firewire? That solved my tranfer woes with the JB3.
-
no firewire on the new mac book
