Title: Battery boxes: supplier in UK / build your own?
Post by: mrblister on March 22, 2009, 12:17:47 PM
Hi,

I record using a Sony minidisc with newly acquired Church Audio microphones plugged directly into the mic. in .  This works OK but I think I would improve things by going the route of a battery box and using the line in inputs.

My question is where can I purchase a reasonable battery box mail order in the UK ( I don't want to purchase from the US or canada because of times to get a unit but mainly because I will get hit by masses of input tax)?  OR are there any online dummies quides to building your own?

Any help gratefully received

aaargh - help!!!!

I believe I have a battery box problem (sudden drops/increases in level across both channels - only happens when bb is in use).  Doesn't happen when connected direct to sbd, and most of my recordings recently have been sbd.  Drop in levels also has a marked deterioration in bass too - could it be the bass roll-off circuitry?

Anyway, need one desperately for Friday (taping in Brighton) - either buy or borrow, I'm in London every other day this week except today.  9v for AT853 to R-09

Thanks for any help

Mick
