any recs for a good FTP gui for *nix?
Googled it but of course that turned up a bunch of hits.
Looking for something along the lines of SmartFTP. Yes, I could do command line and perhaps scripts to automate some things, but I'm lazy...
Cheers, and TIA!

FileZilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/) will work for that... or, if you're running GNOME, the Nautilus file browser can connect to FTP and you can treat it as just another folder on your system. On my recent Ubuntu systems, I can chose Places -> Connect to server and make an FTP connection.

You can setup a samba share on linux. Once you have that setup you can drag and drop files to/from windows.
Filezilla is great. Love the progress bar and queue in that app.

filezilla gets another rec but I use gFTP more than I use filezilla. The interface is almost identical to WS_FTP which I used for years when I used Windows.

I use filezilla on windows, and I'm sure it's good for linux too. The best for linux is command line "ncftp" as far as I'm concerned.

Tickets went away a few months ago... there was a big uproar.
