I hear alot about this recording standard so I tried to do it with my firewire410 and laptop but when I tried to play it back it wouldnt work it only plays in sound forge and nero will not let me burn it what is the deal?
thanks
Ron
Burn it to CD? Nope, not gonna happen. CD standard is 16-bits, 44.1kHz sample rate. 24/96 = 24-bit, 96kHz sample rate, incompatible with the CD standards.
You could try burning DVD-A (though you need very expensive s/w to do it), OR you could burn it to the audio track on a DVD with a fixed image for video (as with any relatively new tech, there's a learning curve associated with this activity, from what I gather).
Check the Archival Info section for a good thread on understanding A/D and D/A.
what Brian said.
any problems recording at 24/96 with the Firewire 410?
None here (to an iBook).
