More good info..
another friendly warning .... unless your REALY REALY in a pinch, dont try to run mics>Jb3 .... the hardware is ment to handle line gain and i'm guessing it just pumps extra power through the same thing .... long story short it has a INCREDIBLY high noise floor. I'm guessing the CSB's have a battery box or some such?
anyway .... thanks for the warning.
Just got a jb3 and have a question about this statement. Don't have money for a pre yet and wondering if going c1000s>line transformers>jb3 be okay?

The line transformers should get your levels up hot enough, in most situations, that you'll be able to run line-in thereby avoiding the noisy mic input. Give it a go!

Do an Advanced Search (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=10460) for "ODL-312" (without the quotes) and you'll find some info on the digital format converter I'm using to run the JB3 out of my V3. So far, great results - just ran it last night for Eddie From Ohio here in Cleveland.
