Title: AT830?
Post by: rsimms3 on April 14, 2009, 08:56:37 AM
Anyone here know anything about these?  There is a guy on eBay with a bunch of them, he sells a lot of communications equipment and if I remember correctly use to sell a bunch of 831s just like these that were terminated in a 1/8" jack.  He says they are much like the 831s except made to handle higher SPLs and have an extra hole in the top of the cap.  Just wondering, my friend is looking to get a cheap set of mics and I like modding so I thought these might be an option.  The information that keeps popping up for 830 is a flat style omni, not a card.  Any information is appreciated.

That was the predecessor to the 835's, I believe.  Non removable caps.  It says 'high SPL'...from what I've heard, they need a 4.7k mod.  Maybe they're already modded?
It's also wired into a single 1/8 connector.  You'd hafta have them rewired to run a stereo pair, I assume.
