Hey now.... Was recording Delta Nove last night in Tempe and ended up running into someone that used to tape and has a MBHO 603a active setup sitting in his closet that he wants to get rid of. He has the card caps for it. I've always loved the HO sound and have been keeping an eye out for them. So if you have HO knowledge what would you consider a fair price? He already gave me a price but I'd like to hear what everyone here thinks is fair before posting what he is asking in case it skews someones opinion.
Stay Kind,
Dana

seems that lately they are running about 1K$ for a set with the actives
great mics, ive pulled some great tapes with them back in the day

Fair price is contingent upon many things: age, condition, trust, budget, current market value, etc. Per Atlas Pro Audio (the first link across which I stumbled on Google), a new pair of 603As + KA200 cardioid caps runs around ~$2,100. I assume that's MSRP. Actual street value is probably ~10% less, as a guess. After that, it's up to the other factors I mentioned. I usually figure a 10-30% discount off street prices for used gear, depending on age, condition, trust, current market value, etc. FWIW.

Yep.. Price is contingent on alot of things. I should be able to check them out tomorrow for condition (Have to drive to flagstaff today for another Delta Nove show (The Orpheum is closing and it's the last concert at the venue.) One big plus is I know the history of these mics. Before the current owner they went through a few friends who babied them. They are about 4 years old. The current owner says they are pristine. I also saw the MSRP at around 2k.
Caymanreview... You hit it on the head... His price is 1k. I think I could probably talk him down to $900.
We have a busy weekend here next week... McDowell Mountain Music Festival, Cornmeal and then Todd Shaffer and Friends. I should be able to take the HOs for a dry run and see how I like them.

Is this guy's name Brian? I think I remember meeting this guy before I started taping, if it is indeed the same person.

I sold my MBHO 603a/KA200 cards/KA500 hypers/KA100 omnis for 1500.00 a month or 2 back and 900.00 seems fair.
