Title: trouble burning to CD's
Post by: stvgray on January 10, 2004, 04:45:18 PM
Just recently discovered archive.org and the vast range of live shows available for download. Have downloaded three or four shows, and each time -- when I tried to burn them to CD -- three out of four of my CD-burning applications refused to complete the burn, saying there were errors.

The MD5 files have been fine in each case.

In each case, the only application that would complete the burn and show no errors was MusicMatch, which I generally think sucks for other things (such as iPod interface).

The MusicMatch CDs sound great, but MusicMatch's burning module only allows 5 freebies, and then you have to pay $19.95 for the upgrade.

This happened with .shn downloads and a .flac download. I converted the shn's to WAV files with mkw Audio Compression Tool 0.97. I forget what I used to convert the flac files.

I had the problem on both my HP desktop with XP and my HP laptop with XP.

Anybody know what might be going on here?

Burning WAVs. I've tried Easy CD-DA Extractor (audio CD module), Real One, Windows Media Player, and MusicMatch. Only MusicMatch worked.
