Kind of makes me wish I needed eight channels.

You do not have to use eight channels to love this box.  Two, three, four, five six, . . . whatever.  They are all there, clean power, clean pre's and good converters all under one roof.  The 724 does not have four channels with pre's.  So you are never going to have exactly the same control on each pair of stereo feeds.

Is it worth the extra expense?  That's your decision.
