Title: Opening up a JB3 - sticking scroll wheel
Post by: TaperBryan on May 20, 2009, 02:47:37 PM
I've never opened mine up.....anybody recommend a easy way to do so?  I managed to get the face plate off....but, that's about it so far.  The scroll wheel is sticking and I'd like to clean it up a bit.

TIA.

I am not familiar with JB3's, but if the scroll wheel is stuck because it is dirty/sticky, you could spray it with electrical contact cleaner and see if that does the trick.

yeah...its just a matter of getting it opened up.  I don't want to strip those screws.......

I hear ya, I was thinking you might be able to spray the wheel without opening it up.

I've fixed a few stuck, noisy or bad knobs/pots on mixers by just spraying the knob while twisting. (without opening up the mixer case to get inside)....
