I'm wondering if anyone has tried running the big ol' Shure A81WS windscreens with mk4/actives on a kwon-type bar. The hole in the windscreen is fairly deep, and with the actives/mk4 they go in maybe half the way in, not quite to the point where the interior of the hole has the scratchy material. It seems to stay on pretty well like that but not sure if the foam is 'too thick' or whatever when the caps are not inserted in all the way. Any info would be appreciated!

yes, mk4's on DIN and ORTF bars and mk21's on a NOS bar. works fine.

what about 4v or 41v?

I don't see why not. Strike that. I will try them with 41v's tonight to see if the caps are surrounded by the less dense foam or if the denser foam encroaches into the cap area. I think they'll work ok.

My concern is that there would not be enough air and you would get a resulting muffled sound from the caps.

I always found if I stuck the A81WS all the way on, so they butted right up against Kwonbar, the cap always ended up in the coarser / airier foam.

Thanks gents, I'll have to try them out for myself and see how it works. :P
