Title: Bass Rolloff
Post by: Cheesecadet on May 23, 2009, 05:08:45 PM
Hey all...i am borrowing a SP Battery Box and using it with some DPA 4061's.

It has a bass rolloff setting.  Should I use any rolloff with these mics?  If so how much?

What is the difference between 95hz and 107hz?  Will it be that audible?

Just curious as I have never really used rolloff before.  ::)

Thanks in advance!

My preference is to roll off, if necessary, in post.  YMMV

I've only had bad experiences with bb with roll-off. They are not reliable and acurate at all.
There are lots of complicated ( for me, of course) things going on, like the interaction between the components of your rig.
Use a high pass filter ( the bass roll-off) later, on post. It's safer.
Have fun ;)
