well
I started a thread about these:
CAD e70 condenser Card/Omni caps
look like newer mics that may have been available in a bundle previously?
look here:

It also appears that they are not shipping until June 9th 2009
you could be one of the first....
also you could consider the Busman mics
I have the Rodes- I am not sure you'd be upgrading with them...? ? ? but they sound ok
I just Upgraded to the Milab VM44-Links ($1200) from the RODE NT5's after about 5.5 years of running them.
I hardly ever use them - If you like to borrow them to try them out let me know
Peace

Interesting Ian.. I will have to look into these myself! I am gonna wait around and see what kind of recordings come with these mic's but they seem pretty nice for a sub 200/pair mic set..

Consider Busmans:

The choice of capsules between the four is very nice.

E@rl
you pulled the trigger that fast?
I am sure you'd get tons more recommendations to consider
But the Busman Mics are an excellent choice!
and Chris is a very nice and genuine guy!
you won't be sorry

yeah seems like they could a great deal and nice mic
I'd consider getting some myself - just to have them
but since the beginning of the year - mid jan I have had a roughly $200 per month "temporary" pay cut!
and it doesn't look like its going to be added back to my salary and time soon....
I'm still paying off the Milabs...
but if I get an extra $200 they might be fun to play around with.

Haha, yea i pulled the trigger on a lot of stuff pretty fast almost bought an entire rig today. Bought a UA5 of the yard sale. Then went and got a stand extension pole from B&H photo. xlr cables from ebay and the mics. I'm gearing up for the summer shows :)
I might check those CAD ones out as well.. never hurts to have a couple to play around with.

I see you already bought your XLR's, but it should be noted that even though he doesn't seem to list them on his site, Chris (Busman) makes nice cables to go along with his mics.

Thanks for the heads up... i bought some cheap cables, but i was noticing a lot of guys using "phatman" cables and what not. Anyone have links to these cables or the ones Chris (Busman) makes?
