I look forward to listening
were you running blumlien?
or how did you have them set up?
or were they spaced?  angle?

what deck were they going into?
when the blend was used, was it a nak 550? or someother mixer?

thanx for the listening

nice!

the Redrocks 25th row
and philly 10th are very present!

sounds like MOTB material...
have you thought about contacting the Mouth Of The Beast crew?
so they can get these out...

Thank you for checking out my post!
the carrier dome was recorded with a passive blend box into an uher, i was a few decks back w a marantz 340 cassette deck, no idea what blumlien is, sorry, the mics were set up by Steve A - Beyers aimed just inside the stacks, Sennheiser straight ahead.

the red rocks mic set up was Vinnie the Veteran's Beyers into a Sony D5, I was patched out of him, mics pointed just inside the stacks

the Philly show was recorded with a Nac 550, i was patched out w a D5, same mic angle, setup this time by Cliff F and Scott.

I used to love to patch out of an interesting rig or combine my set up w other poeoples' to make something cool. I have a shitload of masters from the 80's. Very flattered that someone thinks they're worth posting. I'll ask Steve, Vinnie, and Cliff if they still have their tapes and if they would post theirs, i was just a "worthless patch" as we used to call ourselves occasionally. . haha

check out motb

contact them
they are all super nice guys and do a wonderful job at mastering and making those
Mouth Of The Beast recordings sound so sweet

so it sounds like the mics may not have been wide spaced just pointed at the stacks with minimal spacing

thanx for sharing

I would have loved to have used "spaced mics" more, but I can only recall doing it a few times - always with John Hance coincidentally. Once at a Jerry show at Stonybrook U, at one point, two of us were holding senn 421's in our armpits, about four seats apart, very close to the stage in the "student section", sounds sweet for 20 mins, but security popped us, so most of the second set from that show is from further back in the "public section". Also seperated mics twice behind the stage at Nassau Coliseum 1981, sounds nice. I'll throw some tapes at those motb dudes, Thanks.
